Hit hwy 400 and hwy 11 north of GTA in the winter and you will see pickups pulling sleds cruising at 140 all the time.

Yep!  Those poor bearing in those small tires at 140km/h!!

First thing I did when I got my trailer was upgrade all the bearings.

My concern is trailer tire speed rating. Most are only rated to 104km/hr.

Yep!!  Upgraded those guys too to 8 ply IIRC.

I just never wanted to have to stop to change a flat tire/bad wheel bearing.  Installed Bearing Buddies too.

A lot of people just don't care about fuel economy.

You're right. Don't kid yourself. Everybody is crying the money blues, but they have lots of money for $50,000+ vehicles and cruise the highways 30-40 kph over the speed limit.

So, I forgot to update.  They replaced the wiper cowl a week ago...and...it wasn't the problem.  Squeak is still present.

The next thing they're going to try is resealing the windshield.  Hopefully that fixes it.  I'm just waiting for their bodyshop to tell me the parts are in.

So, if you recall, last winter I complained that there was a squeak where the dashboard meets the passenger A-Pillar.  The dealership had a look at it, replaced the wiper cowl, and resealed the windshield, to no avail.  The squeak remained.

The next step would be to start tearing into the dash to find the culprit, but I wasn't sure I wanted them to start doing that.  Tearing a dashboard apart is pretty drastic, and I'm pretty sure it would never go back together like it should.  I was already prepared to just live with it.

Then this weekend, at my work Xmas party, I'm talking to a couple of managers from our store who both drive Tundras, a '16 and a '17, so the same generation as mine.  We were talking about Tundras (fuel economy was a common theme, lol), and one of them asked if I have the Dashboard squeak near the A-Pillar.  It turns out that all 3 of our trucks have the exact same squeak in the exact same location.  So I guess it's just something that these trucks do.  It makes me feel a little better that my particular Tundra isn't screwed together any differently than any other Tundra.

It's a pain in the ass, but I guess I"m just prepared to live with it from now on.  It really only happens when it's really cold out, the rest of the time it's fine.

So, since you're in Winnipeg it doesn't squeak for 2 months of the year?

I'd lose my mind....

I had IQ in the backseat with a stethoscope locating a squeak for me. It only happens when very cold over very bumpy road. So it happens infrequently. But still.

She found the squeak. I'll see what can be done to fix it.

The wife’s Mazda made noises in the extreme cold which I never heard prior to moving to Alberta. I think moving back to B.C. is a good fix.

Yeah, cold plastic is noisy. But if you move back to B.C. you’ll be missing out on the Alberta Advantage. This includes incredibly high utility costs, high property taxes, giant potholes, marginal transit coverage, and parking rates that are high without any fathomable reason.  Oh, and a driving population where 99% of drivers are clueless about getting on a freeway or letting people on a freeway.

On the SC, the noise is right in the corner of the small triangular 1/4 windows in the back.

Am hoping a little Shin Etsu grease (or similar) cures this.

I'm not sure if having 2 Audis in the driveway is the best idea ever....

Makes for fun bench racing anyways...

In that bracket (used) you could get a GT-R or 911 TT for exmaple.

Hmmmm...which of the 3 would I rather?  IQ loves the R8....I still think she'd lean GT-R.

I'd LOVE a GT-R.  Hell, I'd like to just get another chance to drive one.  What a machine.  People that poo-poo them haven't driven one.

I haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about  ;D

And I'd love to buy that SC for my dad. He's always wanted a hardtop convertible.
