Could any other car get away with changing colours and tying itself to a movie, then charging a premium for it? "We put a 53 on the side of the Beetle and now it's $6,000 more!" It's just a green mustang....

Agreed.If it's collectable it will be because it's a car from the end of the golden age - IE N/A V8, manual, etc. - not because it's a Bullitt.
There's a couple of 2001 Bullitts on AutoTrader for $15k, which is more than a typical GT of that era goes for.
