I think you guys are forgetting that Hammy lives in Newfoundland where selection is limited. I wouldn't want to own a Porsche as a DD on the Rock either.

Go for the 2017. You'll be switching cars in a few years anyway.  :P

I would.  A Porsche is more reliable than a BMW or MB IMO.

And their harsh weather testing is second to none.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

I don't know if Newfoundland has a huge service support for a Porsche. At least BMW is a more mainstream brand.

Both dealers and/or independents. It could be a major PITA if your Porsche requires repairs with limited dealer or indie support.

We have no Porsche, Lexus, or Genesis dealers, none.  I'd LOVE to have a Porsche and I will some day when I retire to a warmer less rocky island.  The BMW guys came back and they say their CPO deals don't apply to this clearly cpo car because it's still technically new even though it was put into service a year ago and not a demo. Now they are even backtracking a bit and saying dropping the p d I was because they were trying to move the car the end of last month.  Why do they make it so hard to buy a car, seriously who besides me is buying a BMW 240i in Newfoundland in November....... no one that's who.  I should just make them a rediculous offer and see if they take it. .

How true. And a 2017. Suggest you go "third party" in your mind, and make an offer you think both you and the dealer should accept, in fairness. Then tell them its the final offer and if not accepted you won't waste their time, however you are prepared to buy TODAY. No backtracking, no more games. Its a car, shouldn't be an aggravation but then they love it don't they.

How rediculous should I go I wonder?  Obviously pdi out, needs winter tires, cpo warranty, anything else?

What's the discount on it? $7.5k? I'd just work a final number, never mind how they wanna write it up. Figure out what you want off the total purchase price & what you'd want thrown in & run with it.

Not sure about the NFLD market but anywhere else I would laugh at them.

That's kind if where I'm at, I'm looking for opinions on how far to go though.

Well, for a 2 year old car in that price range that's been RDR'ed I'd think the discount has to be at least 15K....and forget about them trying to charge freight/PDI ...that's long gone.  ::)

Just checked Autotrader country wide for 2017 240's and there aren't many out there. There's one with 18k kms on it, asking $45k. The one you're looking at is $52k on there, it was originally listed for $56k over 6 weeks ago.
http://bit.ly/2zDFwFj

So if you're saying it was originally $62k plus taxes, they're down $10k in advertised price, but might still add freight & PDI to that $52k. I'd try to get it for $48 - $50k all in (plus taxes) with the sport exhaust, extra warranty & a set of winters on alloys.

It means that 2 dealers locally have them for $91K including ADM and taxes.

Sticker price is what is on the manufacturer’s window sticker.
