Ok, so I think what I really want is a BMW 240i X Drive. There are currently three options available at our local BMW dealership, one 2017, one 2018 and one 2019. I am ruling out the 2018 right off the bat, it's red in a really red kind of way so it's not working for me.
Option 2 is a 2017 silver with premium and exec packages, it's called CPO but it only has 300 kms and has never been owned, it has an in service date of Dec 2017 but it isn't plated. MSRP with freight and pdi and whatnot is about $62K before tax. They are offering me $9,500 off now with a free performance exhaust so about $11,000 discounts and the CPO rate is 1.9% over 5 years. I'm a bit concerned because this is now technically a two year old model and silver is not my #1 favorite color but very acceptable.
Option 3 is a just arrived grey metallic 2019 with performance exhaust and premium package and msrp of $62K before tax. The rates are not as good as the 2017 and there are no discounts since this is a new model. The thing is I like this color more than the silver. I could do the balloon option and have about the same payment but still be on the hook for $18K at the end of five years.
On top of this the BMW guy is saying they have a national CPO promo starting next week so likely I can do even better on the 2017. I'm leaning towards the 2017, they really want to move it but the metallic grey just looks so nice. I spent an hour driving the 240i today and it seems so perfect. Not much back seat room but we have an F-150 for that. I think just by typing this I've talked myself into the 2017 but I'm always open to other opinions, thanks.
I'd like to hear from anyone that has a 240i.
