The Genesis 5 year paid maintenance appears disingenuous. All it covers are oil changes every 12K km or one year. If you drive more than that in 1 year you pay. No charge air filter and cabin filter, but couldn't find interval. May have read this incorrectly, but paint was covered for only 3 years. Battery 2 years. I could be wrong, but they are SCANT with the details. Hyundai offers the same 5 year warranty. Customers are still on the hook for all wear items; brakes, tires, wipers et al.
The sweet spot in leasing is 3 years/60 mths. That way it's oil changes and nothing else. If you run snows then the original all seasons on the vehicle will pass the lease return inspection. If you lease a vehicle with a 4 year comp warranty like Acura/VW then 4 year lease is fine. But if the lease is with the D3, Toyota, Honda, et al then 3 years is the charm.
Speaking of leases, today my son turned his 2017 RDX, 54600km, with 18 mths remaining on a 48 mth/80K km term for a 2019 MDX Tech in pearl white ($500) for $698.64 mth/48/80k km. That's what you get for high residuals and insane resale.
