Did you consider a Honda Insight or Civic Hybrid?  Both would be within your price range.

Only in passing.  Not terribly fond of the gen2 Insight (I owned a Gen1).  Nothing wrong with a Civic Hybrid IMO...but we prefer leather interior and I don't recall seeing one equipped as such.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Autotrader shows (5) GS450H
https://www.autotrader.ca/cars/lexus/gs/?rcp=15&rcs=0&srt=3&prx=-1&loc=H0H%200H0&kwd=450h&hprc=True&wcp=True&sts=New-Used&inMarket=advancedSearch

There is one in Laval, QC $11,495 2007 125,800 km
https://www.groupeautomobile.com/vehicles/2007/lexus/gs-450h/laval/qc/46848534/?sale_class=d%27occasion

Also have a CT200h
https://www.groupeautomobile.com/vehicles/2011/lexus/ct-200h/laval/qc/48237544/?sale_class=d%27occasion

You guys keep missing the "2013+" part for the GS450h.  Pre-2013, they weren't terribly frugal.

For a CT, we want a "loaded" one. Base stereo is only "meh".  Backup camera is in rearview mirror (also meh).

Loaded one comes with proper nav screen and good stereo..among other things.  The only way to tell, by eye, of the full load...is the headlight washers.  You'll see the little bump under the headlights.

But thanks for the effort in looking at ads!

Sorry about the GS450h but there was no model year next to the CT200h, but 10K tag price ;D

Last January (seem so far from now!), there was a 2016 GS450h 47k kms that popped but I do not remember the asked price... Too bad.

Okay, what about the Infiniti M35h?  Maybe not as fuel efficient as some of the others but definitely hits the luxury area you are looking for.

Oh right!  I did drive one of those, but afterwards dismissed it.

It just doesn't feel anywhere near as polished as the GS...or other luxury hybrids for that matter.  It's a bit hard to explain. It's less seamless is maybe a better way.

A car that DID surprise me and that I DID like (lots) was the Acura RLX Sport Hybrid.  But they are well above my budget...and MPG is less than hoped for.  Beyond that....I really liked it!  Styling was a bit staid though.  Handling was very good...powertrain very robust.

A5 update:

IQ mentioned she got a tail light/turn signal warning on the dash.

Middle section of rear light is out. That part is 2 traditional bulbs...so I'm hoping it's just a bulb.

Raining cats and dogs right now...I'll check when it subsides.

If it isn’t the bulbs, a very common problem with those taillight clusters is the plug end of the assembly where it connects to the taillight receptacle. The dealership has a kit for it.  I did the plug end on my TT about a year ago. If you see some discolouration on the male pins on the receptacle end that is likely your culprit. I also replaced the taillight bulb assembly super cheap from eBay as a first attempt at solving it.

I had the same issue on the TT, except it would burn out a pin. It would be black.

For some (and myself) it was a grounding issue. After replacing the housing twice, I did the grounding wire "fix" that people did and it never gave a problem after that.

Hoping its just a bad bulb.

Replaced both bulbs and all is well.

Though the condition of the base of the bulb certainly gives me pause...

Might be arcing. I wouldn't count on those bulbs lasting long.

IQ's clutch is slipping ever so slightly. Car has 140k now, so a clutch is on the horizon probably.

For giggles, I contacted the local Audi dealer for pricing.

$6k LOL [emoji38]

Transverse mount with a subframe in the way and a lot of top side needing removal to get at the bell housing? Just guessing based on an Alfa clutch job.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Pretty sure the motor in the A5 sits north/south. 11.5hrs might not be too far off tho! Clutch replacement on the 951 is stupid long, 14hrs.
