The Pebble Beach version (with only 61,000 kms I might add) so he would have twins.  ;D

I prefer the Tiger Eye Mica Pebble Beach Edition... ;D

For some reason I never like the exterior of SC , maybe everything is to rounded off
But from the driver seat the view is nice

I'm not fond of the front bumper...looks a bit truncated.

Much prefer it with a quality lip.

So I ordered a dipstick for the A5.  It's supposed to be OEM Audi.  I arrived today.

But the entire thing is plastic....top to bottom. And CHEAP plastic.

Every other Audi dipstick I've seen was metal cable with aluminum bottom dipper...only the top was plastic.

Hmmmm.....

When does the 'errand car' arrive?

When does the 'errand car' arrive?

Honestly...I think I'm throwing in the towel.

Been trying for 3 weeks.  Was supposed to go tomorrow (again).  Been trying to get ahold of the guy since Friday....no replies, no nothing.

Back to the drawing board.

well, if it fell through, are you at least going to tell us what it was?

Yeah, I'm curious to know what you consider an 'errand' car.

I wanna know too!
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Aren't those too new, though?  Pretty sure Ron likes the older cars.

Honestly...as pointed out....nothing interesting.  Pure utility.

These are the cars on the radar:

2014+ Corolla S ($10k gets a decent one)
2013+ ES300h ($15k gets a decent one)
2012+ Camry Hybrid XLE ($12k gets a decent one)
Accord Hybrid
Lincoln MKZ hybrid ($15k)
CT200h ($10k)
HS250h ($8k)

My ultimate "get" is a GS450h ($20k+) hybrid which would be my car+utility/family car.  But so hard to find.  It's also well above the cost of the others.

The one I gave up on was one of the above.  :)

So 8 cars: 7 hybrids & 1 ICE  ;)

I wish you to find your GS450h, it looks to be a nice piece of art machinery..
Gone but not forgotten in chronological order: 2019 Volt, 2013 Volt, 2014 Spark EV, 2012 Volt and many others before...

The MKZ Hybrid would be my choice, easily, tested a couple non-hybrid MKZ over the years and have always like them, unique styling and super comfortable. I assume the MKZ Hybrid is similar to the Fusion hybrid, which I've also tested and came away rather impressed.

Course, you do realize that if you shop around you can find a ZF equipped Quattroporte for similar money and it would prevent me from teasing you for riding around in a powerwheels car  ;D

Well all of them have ICE.   ;)

Yea, I think for the task at hand a hybrid makes sense though.  IQ gets paid for mileage for her job too...so again...makes sense. The Corolla is on the radar as I had one as an extended loaner when my 911 was in for body repair.  It delivered near hybrid economy during my time.

I did look at 2016+ Prius ($18K or so) and Prime ($24k)...but they were just too much for me to want to pony up...considering a GS450h is in that ballpark.

Considered a Soul EV and a Leaf...but range is an issue.

So a frugal ICE/hybrid seems to be the best bet, currently.

The MKZ hybrid feels as it it has less poke than the ES.  That much is certain.  But the suspension felt more buttoned down than the ES...which would be a concern if you had some interesting roads during you commute I suppose.  I felt the interior quality was superior on the ES.

I think a Quattroporte would be a terrible car where reliability and frugality are some of the important criteria.   ;D

GS 450h's seem to pop up occasionally, see there are a couple in Calgary at the moment at 15k

Although if you are going to go all the way to Calgary, you should probably stretch for the sweet LS 600hL they have there

I have my doubts there are ANY 2013+ GS450h in Calgary.  Or else anywhere for that matter.

600HL is awesome....but for our use, the frugality isn't there.

Did you consider a Honda Insight or Civic Hybrid?  Both would be within your price range.
