Congratulations! A $55k luxury sub-compact with a new 9-speed transmission with a brand new turbo engine that will run on 2 cylinders! What's not to like?  ::)
About that infotainment. Watched a video review last night from TFL. They were NOT very kind to the puppy 'Slade and downright embarrassed it with the cheap voice recognition that GM still hasn't figured out.
Another convulsion from GM.  :rofl2:

Don't forget, it's also Direct Injected, so you're going to get carbon buildup on those valves over time, too.

I really like this little Caddy, looks sharp in and out and i'm happy to read that the new 4cyl is a smooth one.

The Ecotec 2.0T began in 2006 and never had chronic carbon build like VAG products.    This new LSY engine replaces LTG since 2013 which I have in my Envision and smoother than most v6's.

Car & Driver said it was a smooth rev engine and never felt the transmission shifting.

A $55k compact CUV that is not compact, billed as sporty but isnt sporty due to vague steering and non-sporty transmission, and a family vehicle that has a fairly cramped back seat. A rolling oxymoron, as is most of the segment.

Should sell well for Caddy.

A caveat, it looks OK considering the segment. The front is kinda ruined by that cheap looking plastic cladding, and the rear looks like Honda's take on a Volvo rear end. But not bad.

If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Great review...thats actually not a bad looking thing.

The outside is indeed quite nice. but did you see the interior? The (almost universally) hated iPad fell on its back and got glued to the dash. It does not look well integrated at all. Besides, that $55k in top trim is in US $$$$

They also named the base stripped down trim "luxury". That's a new marketing low - luxury with all luxury features stripped down. FFS.

CT6 is the only Caddy in the current lineup worth a look that is in fact a well rounded package with little or no compromises.

Geezus. That’s near as bad as you talking that Buicks appreciate.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

I guess it's even smoother when cylinder deactivation kicks in.  ::) Now I'm gonna call my Kawi Z650 twin a smooth operator

Not sure about the online thing but with active engine mounts and noise cancellation most of the unwanted stuff will never be heard or felt.

I will say Motoman on YouTube was getting 33 mpg or something Cadure's RDX 2.0T will not likely see.

Worst implementation of the tacked-on-iPad infotainment system ever. And the styling just isn't elegant inside nor out, no flowing lines, no design. Just chrome and flash- not luxury.

Why can't the Americans figure this "luxury" car thing out? It works fine if billed as a Chevrolet or GMC, but this is supposed to be a Cadillac with a price premium.

I don't get the specific hate for this thing.

Other than Norm, who is a fool, this thing seems like it would check all the boxes for some suburban lady that wants a small "premium" SUV. My guess is I'll be seeing a lot of these in the road.

Well Chaos has ro hate it because it’s an SUV, others have to hate it because it’s GM, and itgers have to hate it because it’s got a 4 and is in the luxury segment...
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

I would be fine with it if GM didn't try and market it as "sporty" and "agile to drive" and other such BS. Also optioned it is very expensive.

I do agree with the line "a crossover made for a generation of crossovers" - too true and they should stick with that. It is what you really want, it will be selling like crazy because everyone drives a crossover of some kind, so just buy it already.

But you act like they're the only one that does this. How many :censor: vans and trucks and SUVs do you see with sport or sport packages. Also, I would submit that most luxury brand SUVs are expensive to option.

Now if you want to argue that your money is better spent on a Q3 or whatever that's fine but I feel like a lot of people are blaming Cadillac for basically doing the same thing everyone else is.

Honestly, for the woman that wants to sit high, doesn't want something too big, and wants good fuel economy this is going to fly of the shelves. Book it.

Just because most mainstream people are going to like it doesn't mean we have to like it.  As discerning car enthusiasts, we are allowed to heap scorn on a vehicle...

That being said, most of us heap praise on vehicles that don't actually end up selling well, like diesel, AWD station wagons in brown, with a manual.  Nobody ever said the collective membership on this forum was right... we're just opinionated.

What do you mean ? I see plenty of diesel AWD manual wagons ......oh right I'm in Germany.

Seriously though, on this car forum we tend to be more picky than most, because we're more aware of the alternatives out there. And in the crossover market, there are a lot of alternatives.

I don't necessarily think it will fly off the shelves, given the stiff competition (the Germans, the Japanese.....). But it will be soon available at your local car rental place...... ::)
