Great read... and it's cool to share those car experiences with your kids as well! I know my boys love going for a rip in the old 951, a brand new Mustang would be insane for them  ;D

Great article.  The "Ice, Ice Baby" references were the cherry on top. The author didn't mention why he would spec it with a 10-speed though.

The 2018's sound amazing.  And the front end is growing on me.

Colour makes a difference on any car,  but seems especially so with the Mustang.
This yellow with the black wheels looks good.
That damn 5.0 keeps trying to pull me in.....

I don't get the gearing on the manual at all.  Top speed in second is some ridiculous number - and you have 4 more gears to go.  Where the hell is the owner going to see redline in 4th other than a track? And a not just any track.

Good article though - an enjoyable read.

Agreed that the yellow looks wicked.  Bullitt green for me, though.  Or red with charcoal grey stripes:

That was my only criticism of the GT350 I drove.  Second gear topped out at 125 km/hr.... :o

Only 1 shift then to get to 60mph  :P  Probably geared so tall for fuel economy figures  ;)

At one time the (conspiracy) theory was that gear ratios were choosen so that magzine reviewers could get 0-60 times with as few upshifts as possible, to have better reported performance numbers.

That's bonkers.  I mean, I would still love the car, but would love it more if I actually got to use all the gears.  It's one of the things I love about driving my wife's Fit - I am snicking up and down through that gear box at least up to 5th gear even in town.  Obviously I don't expect an equivalent out of the Mustang, but still, you're in speeding ticket territory on the highway if you wind out second gear?  ???

My Dad's friend had a mid-'70s Corvette when I was 10 or so years old.  He'd take me out on the highway in it, and get it up to 125mph!  It was awesome.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

Sorry, that bit's unclear. What I was trying to say was:
-buy a softer one with the 10-speed instead of a fully-loaded and manual
or
-keep options low and get a stick and Performance Package 2

I would go PP2 and stick, Kona Blue. Friend just bought one like that and it looks amazing.
