I remember when this thing was out and I always thought the Miata was a much better looking car...looks like almost twenty years and that still holds true, especially for $13k
Lighten up Francis.....

My least favorite gen of this car. Actually I keep putting it out of my mind that they even built this.

As a long term fan of the MR2, this gen never did anything for me at all......and still doesn't.

How did they drive over the older generations? . It sounds like Toyota dropped a ton of weight for this version. On paper it should make it the better driving car? My favourite MR2 so far was the 1st gen supercharged. Easy to spin out.

I loved these when they were new. Really wanted one but they weren't sold here and didn't have the cash to spend on one. Still love them but still don't have the cash for one apparently at that price.

There's a yellow one of this generation i see driving around my neighborhood quite often.  I saw it advertised for sale back in the spring and it didn't interest me at all. Not a looker that's for sure.  I like Shane's gen much better.  The body style doesn't translate well to a convertible imo.

I will give this generation of MR2 one thing: the chassis is amazing.  Seriously, it's a fantastic go-cart like car.  But it is really down on power compared to the previous car, and just lacked the spirit of the turbo MR2.

Odd they never offered this with a 2ZZ-GE engine.

It was down on power compared to the  MR2 before it but comparable to the 2nd generation miata that  it competed with at the time.

Too bad it didn't keep the same power output though, especially with the weight savings.  :)
