I have this truck in my driveway right now. The Diesel is incredible; so refined, nice linear power delivery - and lots of it, just excellent. I've been commuting in it during GTA rush hour and my average for the week is sitting at 10.3L. IMO, with a diesel this good there's no reason to buy a gasser LD pickup.
That said, engine aside the F-150 is current the worst of the big 3 domestic truck platforms IMO....As noted, the interior in this Platinum is what I'd call "nice work truck" grade, the 10-speed is choppy at low speeds, and most of all the ride quality is actually terrible in comparison to it's competitors, even the steering feels clumsy. I had the new Ram the week before this, and while the 5.7L HEMI is long-in-the-tooth now, the rest of that truck is much nicer in just about every respect....Heck, even my 2014 Ram on gnarly 35" A/T tires rides much better than this F-150. The GM's are a nice middle ground, not as luxurious as the Ram, but their gasser engine options are much better, and it still rides much, much better than the Ford.
