That sums it up quite nicely.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Not crazy about the sky high hoods on these new trucks... the Ram gives the same kind of look... what happened to better visibility being the number 1 safety feature? Other than that complaint, it's a decent looking truck & GM's have been proven to be reliable  ;)

This truck looks fantastic imo. Most that have seen one in the flesh agree it looks great as photos don't do it justice. I find many GM forum members who hated it are now turning their opinions upon seeing them on ground at dealers lots. Can't decide between a Z71 LTZ 6.2 or a Sierra AT4

This is the first vehicle in a long time that has me seriously thinking about buying new. Can't wait to try one.

 :rofl2: :rofl2:

Honestly, it's pretty bluff browed, but I'd be fine with it if the size was just reduced to 7/8th or so.

looks pretty good... but I feel like this remodel only got it competitive with the last gen ram and the fords which are a few years in their design already.

they'll still sell what they make...

It's like they were trying to recreate this but got horribly lost along the way:

^ That and the Corvette were the styling high points of GM in those days.

Dad had a 1992 or so GMC Sierra extended cab for hauling his 5th wheel.

It would so much better for other drivers if they put the headlights down at bumper level or at least within the height range allowed for cars.  I notice that older truck manages with lower headlights.

Headlights on that Heartbeater are higher than the rooftop of the Mazda I bet.

The only thing the could have done better is the dash design imo. It's all new, but looks too much like the old model which has everyone throwing fits. To me the Ford and GM remain the top-tier trucks while Ram holds the crown as the top luxury truck. The new GM's offer more powertrain choices, tons of new towing tech, larger cabs/boxes, lighter weight, stiffer chassis, better ride, better steering/braking, better acceleration times. It's by no means just competitive to last gen Ram, it's right up there with the new one. Tons of behind the scenes engineering excellence went into these new trucks, and as far as I've researched the driving dynamics prove it.

oh don't get me wrong. it's nice. and some will love it over all others.

personally, I just think the seats don't look as modern/nice as the competition.. the infotainment doesn't seem to be up to their levels... the exterior is up to the buyer, but doesn't look as "new" to my eyes... and the powertrains/suspension are mainly revamps of things they already have... I don't mind the latter, as going all new is sometimes not worth the trouble.

I still look at this truck as a great, real truck... and that should be enough to merit a look and possibly a purchase... but so many truck buyers don't even need the damn truck in the first place, that all those other brands' features will sway them.
