i think a lower trim X5 would have scored better (as the article states)...it's base price is in the ballpark of the others...i'm sure the XC90 looks great, but there's far more to owning a car than looks...an $80k car that bangs and crashes over bumps like an econobox would be a dealbreaker for (our Sorento has a decent ride, and it was $36k so there's no excuse at $80k).

i think an Audi Q7 the Lincoln may have done well too.

Isn't it crazy that we're talking about a Lincoln -- any Lincoln -- being competitive with some of the top premium brands these days and we're not even kidding?  The times, they are a-changin'!

I too love the looks of the Lincoln...among the best looking SUVs IMO...and I'm not fan of SUVs.

Lincoln has gotten good, or have these "premium brands" just stagnated??

I think the bosses at Ford saw the direction that Lincoln was going, and decided to make some changes.  Now they are competitive.

If the Aviator gets a good version of the 3.5L ecoboost then it could be a winner.

The last I've heard, it was getting a version of the 400hp 3.0L out of the Continental.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

400HP would be just enough, as long as it is delivering close to 400 ft/lbs down low .

speaking of 400 HP SUVs...while not as big as these units tested, i just saw there will be a new player coming to Canada soon.

so, you love the Audi TT-RS...but, you need something more practical for your day to day needs...so you look at the RS3...that's better...same engine, but adds 2 more doors and some back seats...but it's still kind of low to the ground, and having a bit more ground clearance would really help in the winter...then the RS Q3 is just for you.

Might as well get a Golf R and at least have a manual transmission

the Golf R doesn't have the 2.5T engine in it...this does...that's part of the magic, and the lack of a manual wouldn't matter to me as i'd want the auto anyway...that engine more than makes up for the no manual part.

Maybe I’m in the minority but I hate just everything about the RSQ3. I just don’t get it.
the RS Q3 is a CUV version of the RS3...more ground clearance, easier ingress/egress...would be a great daily driver.

I know what it is.

A tarted up version of a CUV marketed towards professional women navigating the urban jungle. Brutal.

There would be a handful of cars within the same brand that I’d rather buy at the same price let alone in the market in general.

What’s this thing going to be? $80,000?
if i had the money, i'd likely buy an RS Q3, and i'm hardly a professional woman navigating the urban jungle...i'm a man...and i love the RS3, but having the higher ride height in the winter as well as the easier ingress/egress would be hugely beneficial.

regarding the price, i'm not sure as it isn't out yet...considering the RS3 is about $63k, i'm guessing the RS Q3 will be slightly more, maybe $65k?
