Ever been to the Cabot Trail?

Cycled around it, thought the climbs were short and not that hard.  :P

Speaking of bad l/100's...friends of mine went out last week with another couple.  Friend of my friend recently bought a used Tundra (5-10 yrs old...they all look are the same don't aren't they?). Mint Florida snow birds truck. Showed me a screen shot of what the Toy avg'd pulling a 7000+ lb camper.

You think the RAM was bad?  :P How does 36l/100 sound?  6.5 mpg (US). 250-60 km per tank. If that.  :fall:

That would have been even funnier if I lived in Cobourg.

I actually had to look it up. The CT loop is 288 km with 3678m (although some sites say only 2500m) of climbing, give or take, not very hilly.

Found this elevation profile online...Don't forget the scale makes the "mountains" look much steeper than they actually are.

Soon I'll be cycling the Blue Ridge Parkway where my first day is ONLY 97 kms with 2950m of climbing. That is very hilly. Heck, I've done 160k rides starting from Toronto Beaches and riding north up past Mt Albert that net me 1300m of climbing. Not too bad for a "flat area".  ;D

Yes I've been to the BRP and area a few times already but this will be my first time cycling it. Agree that it is a great area. Which reminds me that I even saw part of the Tour DuPont there when it was running.

Last weekend, while waiting for some minor recall being done on the Odyssey, I took this 2019 Big Horn on a test drive. 2 of my kids came with me. All 3 of us were very impressed with the truck.
Even in this fairly low trim level, the interior blows the competition out of the water, super comfortable. Hemi is strong and acceleration is effortless. The ride is quiet and comfortable.

Now the bad. There was some driveline shudder at low-to-moderate acceleration. Not strong but noticeable nonetheless. The sales guy said the guy who test drove it before me said the same thing but truck hadn't gone through PDI yet. I don't know if the PDI would eliminate the shudder.

I don't need a work truck but I would definitely rock this rig as a family SUV for a few years but wife said "NO" (smart girl). I have another 15 month on my Forester lease so maybe with persistent nagging she will cave in? Dunno  :)

Anyway, I liked the truck.

I didn't ask. I was upfront with the sales guy saying I was NOT going to buy one today, so he just asked me which trim I wanted to check out (I said Big Horn), then he handed me the keys and said "see you later". From my completely unscientific autotrader research, it could be had for high 40's

I was curious the other night so I built a 2019 Big Horn online in the same spec as my 2014; 4x4, tow package, limited slip...think that was it....Came to ~$45K with the current incentives. Reasonable I guess; but that's with manual climate controls, basic cloth bench, small screen, no sunroof, etc.

Venn diagram of people who use trucks as family cars and people who :censor: about cost of fuel/fuel taxes

Are you sure you built a 2019 Big Horn?  When I look at it it's about $55,000 before tax for base Big Horn 4x4 crew with limited slip and tow pack.

You must have built the 2018 that has big incentives.

The Big Horn I built made me cringe at the price...the F150 Lariat is cheap compared to it.

the RAM website seems to be having issues building a 2019 model, but i do recall them being a bit more pricey with not much in the way of incentives currently (it's still a pretty new truck).

and looks it too...even top trim F150s look cheap compared to the upper trim RAM trucks.

yea, i saw that before...the dealer should have caught it, and even if they missed it, it should be a relatively easy fix for them to do (i assume the chrome trim is what should have been on it on both sides)...regarding the 12" screen, it's the first example i've seen not work properly, but i'm sure others don't...it can happen i suppose, but may be fixable via replacement or software upgrade (depending on if it's a software glitch or hardware problem)...if i were buying, i wouldn't be getting the 12" one anyway...the "regular" 8.4" is big enough for me.
