This wasn't supposed to turn into a damn judge-fest on the virtues and sins of letting kids have screen time.  All I was saying is that having the back seat entertainment screen from the Pacifica would be nice in this thing.

Ya'll need to get off your high horses...

People need to do what they determine to be right for their families.

A periodic long road trip is obviously different than a weekly shop at Costco.

My own view is screen time has a greater potential to be negative than positive (or even neutral).

YMMV. And that's fine.

Our kid gets 2 hours of internet per day...that's it.  And that doesn't start until AFTER homework is done.

And that number changes depending on how he's doing in school, the quality of his chores, etc.
So all the parents here get more internet time than any of their kids

Obviously some think parents who limit/make screen time a treat are acting "holier than thou" My Wife just told me she got blasted by another Mom at a group for "acting like her s%^$ don't smell" for our screen time routine. Said Mom claimed her kids have learned so much playing iPad app's and that she'd rather them inside on a screen safe than outside getting kidnapped or in the dangerous sun. Whatever, you raise you kids I'll raise mine but don't go around thinking everyone is trying to out holy you by how they do it. Input from others on parenting has helped us immensely through the years i find, some seem to take offence by how other's do things.

I'll tell you something....,my oldest is 19 now, and the over use of screen/video game time we allowed has followed him into adulthood and it's NOT a good thing AT ALL!

I think there's some truth to younger kids being able to learn something on apps.

However....when kids are 13-14, I'd say most, if not all of them are definitely NOT using their screen time for educational apps.   ;D

Saw one of these today in some type of high-end trim and just way too much chrome for me.  The huge chrome grill is hideous and the big oversize nomenclature badges on the side of the hood reminds me of the giant belt buckles that truckers like to wear.    ;D

I dunno, I like a truck that looks like a truck and this just looks too much like a big bloated car to my eyes.  Seems like RAM is veering more toward the luxury end of the truck spectrum, especially the way they are touting the ride advantages of the coil-over suspension.   Not really a bad idea i suppose because i haven't considered  the RAM to be that good of a work truck, for the last few generations anyway.

Actually...I might be working on a post-doc that looks into the educational merit (in terms of teaching history) of video games. I remember learning at least some basics from Age of Empires, Total War, Silent Hunter,  Command and Conquer, etc. and they sparked my interest in reading up on Attila, WWII, Gulf War, etc.

So not all screen time as a teenager is wasted on YT or porn...most, but not all. Will let you know  ;D
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Just picked up this exact same presser, only drove it about 10 minutes so far; I am not sold on the exterior looks, but the interior is pretty awesome I don't care what anyone says. I also find the drivetrain way more refined than my 2014 with the same 5.7 Hemi.

Will provide some more commentary once I've driven it more.

Yeah, kind of ironic...... with a touch of pot meet kettle mixed in with some of the comments.  Limiting screen time for the kids but yet hanging out on a car forum during work hours here seems to be ok.  lol

Hmmm...I stay up all hours too.  Guess I'm a hypocrite for not letting the kid stay up all night and decide his sleep hours too.  I'm guessing you allow your kids to keep the same hours as you....because you're not a hypocrite, right?  We also watch certain shows we don't deem fit for a kid....guess we're hypocrites there, too.

Guess we should just move aside and let the kid decide everything and extend to them the same privileges as adults and not parent.......you know...so as not to appear to be hypocrites.    :rofl2:

Just took this now.  Current tank has 1173 KMs on it and I've averaged 13.4L /100km.  IMHO, that's not too bad for a truck.

Holy shi :fall:!!!

Mountains of Quebec and Nova Scotia are a lot more demanding than urban city streets, mate. Your buddy is towing at low speeds on flat ground.

Yes it's a box trailer, and is actually a 5x10 with a 6.8ft interior height. 3500 gvwr

Oddly enough, in 2011, I did much better pulling the 28' camper through the Rockies than I've ever gotten pulling either camper on the flat boring prairie flat lands.  Hills are your friend, so it seems, not the enemy.

FWIW, my kids prefer to watch movies in the MDX rather than using an ipad.  Just to defend myself before stoning, the movies only get played on road trips.

Nice truck.  Prefer the exterior of the old one though.  My neighbour at the lake just traded his previous gen Ram in on a Ford.  I asked him if he liked the Ram, he said its a nice car.  :rofl2:  He didn't like how it towed, said it was soft and that the tranny was always shifting.  He went from Ford to Ram to Ford, so maybe he's just a Ford man, I dunno.  Just one guys input.
keep in mind though, this new RAM is all new (aside from the engines, which were already decent)...new frames, new interiors (which were already pretty good before)...they even make them in Warren, MI now (most were made in Mexico previously).

it's unlikely i'd ever buy one of these, but if i were in the market, this would likely be at the top of my list...the bonus is we all know someone we can buy it from (shout out to you tooscoops).

the swapping between brands thing is normal... people think truck people always stick to just one brand, but there is actually a huge amount of swing. seems to all come down to when they are ready for the new truck and what brand has their new model out at the same time (or bigger discounts, if it is more of a price decision). grass is always greener and that.

as for Jeffers points... most were made in warren anyway... regular cabs and heavy duty trucks were mexico, with a few other ones getting built there a couple years back when there was need for even more trucks than warren could put out. but yea, most in Michigan.

and of course you can all buy from me!

Regina is about 1900ft above sea level. But it doesn't count if you're not next to, you know, the sea.  ;D

Toronto is something like 250ft. Majestic.  ;D
