Not yet, but it's supposed to return.

Seeing as this is a family truck, they should offer the behind-seat entertainment system that the Pacifica has.

The kids would probably have their own tablets

You say that...but my kids have tablets and phones, and they often prefer to just watch a DVD on the van's system.  Don't know why.

I'm just sayin'.  Add the entertainment system from the Pacifica, and suddenly the Ram is turned into the ultimate road trip/vacation vehicle.

My oldest son gets car sick really easily with the tablet on his lap, I think most people do. The tablet has to be up high where he can see the movement with his peripheral vision. They have accessories for that:

Overhead screens are a bit useless unless there's an HDMI input. The DVD and even BluRay players with composite video input is no good to me because I refuse to clutter my vehicle with discs and don't even own that many anyway (the only reason i bought them were for the iTunes download code, cheaper than buying from iTunes directly sometimes), plus I don't own a device that can output composite. Maybe if I grabbed an older iPod.

That's why I'm saying add the one from the Pacifica.  The one from the Grand Caravan is old and outdated.  It only runs on DVD's, and is standard definition.

The one from the Pacifica is HD, has HDMI input, and I believe you could also load digital video onto the harddrive.  And it should fit on the back of those front seats no problem!

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

I can definitely be rightly ridiculed for being excessively traditional.

I know families in which the kids go nowhere without the ipad.

Drive to school? iPad.

Restaurant?  iPad.

Walk around the block?  iPad.

Go to the can?  iPad.

It's ridiculous, really.
:iagree:

Absentee helicopter parenting at its best - always right there, but the kid is a world away... My nephews are both glued to the thing all the time, and tantrums erupt every 30 minutes when they have to share, or do ANYTHING other than be on the damn iPad.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Kids get enough screen time.  They don't need it in the car.
Wife took our 11 granddaughter to Thunder Bay, 17 hour drive it came in handy

My kids play outside lots and do lots of extracurricular activities, I'll let them use the iPad if they want as long as their rooms are clean, other chores are done, and homework is done. But do continue parent shaming if you wish. :nono:

my kids have to complete a summer chart before getting any electronic time. 1-make bed 2- tidy room 3- feed and water creatures/clean their respective areas 4- play outside for minimum 2 hours 5- read for 30 min 6- help mom/dad with any work

Then they receive 1 hour of ipad or video game time (our game system is a ancient nintendo something my wife bought when we were dating circa 1996)

Even with this somewhat limited exposure it still amazes me how my 2 yr old knows exactly how to operate a ipad.

This wasn't supposed to turn into a damn judge-fest on the virtues and sins of letting kids have screen time.  All I was saying is that having the back seat entertainment screen from the Pacifica would be nice in this thing.

Ya'll need to get off your high horses...

You're right, rear seat entertainment comes in handy on long trips. A GM salesman told me they don't even order vehicles with DVD players anymore. iPad holders are the new latest greatest and with in car wifi over at GM it's a no brainer.

FWIW, my kids prefer to watch movies in the MDX rather than using an ipad.  Just to defend myself before stoning, the movies only get played on road trips.

Nice truck.  Prefer the exterior of the old one though.  My neighbour at the lake just traded his previous gen Ram in on a Ford.  I asked him if he liked the Ram, he said its a nice car.  :rofl2:  He didn't like how it towed, said it was soft and that the tranny was always shifting.  He went from Ford to Ram to Ford, so maybe he's just a Ford man, I dunno.  Just one guys input.

People need to do what they determine to be right for their families.

A periodic long road trip is obviously different than a weekly shop at Costco.

My own view is screen time has a greater potential to be negative than positive (or even neutral).

YMMV. And that's fine.

Our kid gets 2 hours of internet per day...that's it.  And that doesn't start until AFTER homework is done.

And that number changes depending on how he's doing in school, the quality of his chores, etc.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...
