I'm too lazy to look up the specs, but if memory serves, MY2000 has the sweet 315hp engine, no?

One of my climbing chums carts his all over North America racing it, says it takes way more abuse than he thought it would.  Some tracks have really cool photo services...

^ lol

Well, it's a done deal now.  Took it out for a good run after i picked it up and it really does make some sweet sounds.  Lovely little car!!  The rear quarter on this is a thing of beauty and pure automotive sex imo.  Can't stop looking at it.

You don't own an "M" until you post the gratuitous M badge pic!!   ;D

You getting an exhaust for it for more glorious sound?

It's possible.  Depends how long it sticks around.  ;D

You're correct that it's the 240hp 3.2L engine, but it's chipped.  Not sure what it's actually putting out but it pulls hard, and right from idle.  It's the most linear engine ever for me!

Ya, that I6 has to be experienced to be believe.  Specs don't do it justice.  No point in explaining to ppl.

Good colour, NOT black.  :D

Sweet car!  I presume the M versions are manual only?

https://jalopnik.com/five-reasons-why-you-need-to-buy-a-bmw-z3-m-right-now-1619128518

Yes, manual.  I read that article and I think i must have timed this just right.  It was an amazing deal imo. It's such a sweet car it's bound to go up in value.  It's every bit as good as the S2K but a much better value, at least for the time being.

I love the colour, and yes, happy it's not black.  It's actually new paint as well.  Last year the guy had a garage incident when he was packing up to move into his new house.  Something fell on the car and damaged the hood and broke one of the headlights, so he had the car flatbedded 150km away to Moncton to get a brand new hood and two new headlight assemblies installed, and then had the entire car painted.  The guy just built this beautiful big house with 5-bay garage and you could tell by the looks of things he is a certified gearhead.  He had a new crotch rocket Ducatti, a custom Harley cruiser and he's making room for something else interesting.  Said he was looking at  Maser convertible a few days ago.  He's one of these guys that wants everything perfect, so the right guy to buy from.  Just like the guy I bought the S2K from.  Lots of money and fussy as hell....lol

Try it out man!  If you fit you will love it!  Like i said, the Z3 wasn't even on my radar.  I drove my buddy's Z3 3.0 when i had my S2K and it was nice, but a little too laid back and subdued in comparison to my S2000.  Just nothing special.  The M is a whole different animal.

Ummm...don't you remember me saying "Z3...but it has to be the M or bust" in Sailor's thread?   ;D

Congrats! An awesome find of an awesome car. I remember when I first saw these on the road - that wider stance and re-positioned rear license plate hinted at exciting things. Have fun!

Yeah! It is now officially official.  Congrats on such a cool and fun car. Now hoping for some proper summer weather to enjoy it.

I was just about to make a firm offer on an SLK55 in Ontario

Good thing I was on vacation and you didn't get to find out what condition it was in;D

For some reason I thought you lived in London.  I certainly didn't expect you to drive an hour away just to look at a car for me, but it would have been a fun test drive.  If that SLK55 was available locally, then it may have been a different scenario.  My wife wanted an auto, but she came around after she realized she would likely only drive it a few times a year.  She doesn't like to drive with me in the car anway.  Admittedly, I'm not a good passenger.  ;D  She's actually a good driver though.  Kudos to her though for giving me the thumbs up to buy this one.
