I like the looks, but I’m still in the camp preferring a V6. Ah well.
The cargo capacity numbers as listed need to be checked.They’re much too high.
Just went back to double check the media information provided from Acura on this point. Here's what they've said:
Cargo Volume Standard / Max: 835 / 881 L
2nd Row Folded down / Incl. Underfloor storage: 1668 / 2260 L
The 2260l with rear seats down and under floor include rear seat footwell area. You have got to watch Acura with their cargo numbers as they like to stretch them as far as they can. That is 79 cu ft is CR-V size. These numbers do not compare with the rest of the industry as most are around 60 cu ft with no measurement of under floor and foot well area.
Autoblog did the same thing quoting the press release and not many publication.
"...Those dimensions can be manipulated by seat positioning, storage nooks and more. The Acura example illustrates this: The old MDX was measured using the 2002 version of J1100, said a former Honda representative who asked not to be named. (Acura is Honda's luxury division.) The redesign was measured using the 2009 version. If you measure the new MDX using the same method as its predecessor, its cargo room falls to roughly 75 cubic feet from 83.5, the spokesman said; measure it with the 2009 revision and the number falls to 68.4...."
