The Envision is made in China. Thus, with 25% added import duty in the US, Norm will be comparing it to GLC 43s soon, made in USA, and finding it better, despite the cocoa matting door trim, because the British GKN Twinster rear axle GM specified is so wonderful. Of course, it sits there twiddling its thumbs 95% of the time, and takes 0.4 seconds to engage once front wheelspin starts - there are three clutches to engage. It's a fuel economy device.
Norm inhabits car forums, even small ones, delivering the GM line tirelessly. Quite Why is something only he and his therapist know for sure. Disregard.
I'll have to take a look at this RDX. Wasn't knocked out with the 2.0t Accord, but good AWD interests me. Could not stand the 9 speed in the TLX AWD, and found its low speed quiet demeanour degraded badly on the highway. So if this RDX is quiet, unlike the new Accord with its constantly whirring tires, it might be worth the money. We shall see.
Otherwise, I might just forget these pricey CUVs. The least expensive Mazda6 turbo is quiet, smooth and vibration-free, has 17 inch wheels for inexpensive replacements and snow tires plus enough sidewall for a good ride. The manumatic has a gear hold feature unlike the Honda 10 speed. It has 6.5 inches of ground clearance too, more than a CX-3. All it misses is AWD, but I'm retired now. Dig first, drive later. But, l'll see how the RDX performs anyway.
