If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Neat idea. I can see it being handy for tire changes and brake jobs, but what about other stuff? Would you want to crawl under the car while it’s up on that thing?  :-\

Guy in town got killed on the weekend while working on his car. Don’t know the details, but sounds like it rolled and he got pinned somehow.

Looks flimsy.

How about this one?   :o

I would never get under that, it looks way too shady.  I spent much of my teenage years with a neighbor in his garage (he was a mechanic and then shop foreman at a local dealership), and we did all kinds of work, but that looks sketchy as fak to me.
My diesel car self-identifies as an electric vehicle.

I don't trust any hydraulics without any sort of fail safe.  Hell, my CT jack failed (one of two cylinders leaking) just under (thankfully) a year.  Replaced under warranty, but I'm not expecting this one to last for years and years.  Not that the car dropped at all, but still.

I have jack stands and I'll 100% be using those when changing the Fozzie's brakes later in the summer.

These quick jack systems all have some sort of lock that you rest on without needing to rely on the hydraulics.  Similar to a two-post or four-post lift.

Systems such as these have also been used on various YouTube channels.  MCM uses them, to varying degrees of success.  If you work on vehicles often, and don't have the space or budget for a proper two-post, these quick jack systems are the next best thing.

I probably wouldn't use this much, but I have a buddy who has a race car (circle track) who loves these because he takes it to the track with him and it makes swapping wheels or doing other work between sets much easier. I can see it being very handy in those situations.

Pardon my ignorance but if you lean on the vehicle when it's up on one of these jacks, how does it keep from tipping over?
It seems to me that these systems are missing some sort of stability bracket(s).

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

It's pretty much the same as a normal lift. Normal lifts the car sits on only 4 "pucks" on the jacking points...just like this. And the footprint is nearly as wide as the car. Pretty sturdy IMO.

These lifts have been around a good while. I've readlots of reviews about them. I'd imagine if they were death tools they wouldn't be as popular as they are.

They also have physical locks (2 levels iirc) that auto lock...so even if you lose all hydraulic pressure, they lift can't come down (again, like a normal lift). Locks have to be unlocked before they come down in all operation.

And most lifts have some safety certification. I'm guessing these have that certification...but I'm too lazy to look.

I expect that many of them would do a good job of going through your garage floor if you put a Suburban up on them.

Zero chance I'd be under that without actual jack stands.

I'm no expert on physics, but I would think that the weight of your car on the jack would make it pretty faking stable.  It'd take more than just leaning on one side to push the car off.

...my thoughts, at least.

I've seen my fair share of films where quick jacks were part of the action...
