Yeah, that works if you have rims and will mount them yourself.

If you're swapping tires on your rims then you book an appointment.  And it's crazy how booked they get.   I was doing that with the Higlander but a) it's a pain in the ass and b) they raised the rates and c) I have heard they stopped doing tires that weren't purchased there.   So I bought a set of rims and will start doing it myself.

Good. So the lines are long even with appointments? If you take in loose rims then you can then wait in line at the gas pump while the tires get done. ;D

Seems hit or miss.  And depends on how many clueless customers are ahead of you.   I've had it go smooth or I have had it take an hour longer than it was supposed to.

Ok I'll test it out. I ordered some tires 2 weeks ago but no peep that they made it to the store yet. They probably are still on a slow boat from Japan lol.

The last few times I've bought tires from Costco the appointment thing worked like a charm.

Costco was a zoo. The 50cm dump of snow we had last week has spurred the winter tire rush early. I finally got my set mounted and noticed they were manufactured 14/2018 which is surprising. I figured higher turnover although I expect the 245/65-17 for the Ridgeline is an oddball size.

the DMV2s are winter tires, that's likely why...most people who have trucks don't put winter tires on them...kudos to you for doing so...makes a big difference.

The Highlander on the General winter tires was impressive.  The Highlander on the DMV-2s is astounding.

We found those General Altimax Artics quite good for their price point. Just got some WS90s for my mom's Jetta last week to replace the Generals, as they were getting up there in age after 8 seasons, despite good tread. Not a lot of reviews for the WS90s, but the WS80s were pretty good from what I have heard.

bought a set of X-Ice IIIs for the Rio5 today...booked an appointment for next Tuesday to install them...it's a bit earlier than i would normally do it, but they're on sale, it's not stupid busy yet and i read an article stating we're likely going to have a snowy winter this year so might as well get the jump on it.

That’s what my son runs on his Rio5. They work great in snow and ice.

yea, we have them on our Sorento and it's a beast (but it's also AWD)...i was happy with the Blizzak WS60s, but they're 7 years old now and i noticed they weren't the best last winter (understandably)...i got these ones as they were on sale and we about $150 less than the WS90s (which aren't currently on sale).

My wife was extremely happy with the Xi3s I put on her Mazda 3. She thought she would’ve wanted an SUV in Edmonton but she’s happy keeping the Mazda with the awesome winter tires.

Our Corolla handles Edmonton winters with good winter tires.

I’ve gone running kicking and screaming back to a compact car for a very good reason. I’m still excited I bought a Matrix with good Blizzaks on them for a steal.

Got a set of Pirelli winters at Costco to replace the worn chinese crap that came with the daughter's Accent. Not much choice in 14"! These were about 100$ less than Blizzaks and came with 0.01$ install and 80$ cash card - so a bit less than 100$ per tire, installed and taxed.
