Can we change the thread's title to "Why Costco rocks for tires and ice cream"?  ;D

I bought some winters from Costco a few years ago and they installed them. The whole experience was painless.
I did have an issue with them the one time. They wouldn't put snow tires we bought on the car because they weren't the same speed rating as the OEM summers.

You can avoid that by having them mounted on a different set of rims, and putting them in the trunk of your car rather than having them install them on the car itself.

Angers me that they could employ someone so negligent to do work on tires.
Didn't you put a set of tires on a car that nearly fell off?
Nope.  Rustbucket's spindle broke a week after the changeover.  All bolts were still in the wheel and accounted for.

Costco has great pricing on Bridgestone.

I've picked winter tires for wife's suv and my car in past 2 winters and just picked up high performance RE-71s from them for wrx.

I don't get them mounted there as i have really good tire guy that fully trust here locally in Ottawa.

I think the biggest limitation with Costco is their selection.

that and they get ridiculously busy during tire changeover seasons.

I brought my car in to Costco for a wheel changeover and it came out with this dent in the apron.... which they insist they could not have caused.  I really have no idea what besides a lift could have caused this damage. I'm not going back but up to this point the service couldn't be beat......

Friend is looking for new tires for her 2015 Civic. I suggested Costco - Michelin Defenders seem to be a very good deal. Mixed reviews online though, any input here?

Noticed that Costco now gives you a $70 Costco cash card for tires vs the cash discount.

Is that across all brands?

Yep, seems to be the case.  Last year i got an instant rebate on my winters.  This spring incentives on all tires were cash cards.  I got an $80 cash card for the Pirellis i bought a few weeks ago.

This is also true on some of their travel site , instead of discounting the trip , they give you a cash card

Makes sense from their perspective.  Bring em back into the store to spend it there.
