I don't think Michelin makes LTX anymore
It is a Defender LTX M&S now
I have them on a truck now for 2 years , works pretty good for me
Very highly rated on Tire rack #2 out of 39 highway tire

I dunno.  LTX AT2 is what is says on the sidewall of the tire, and Costco lists the Michelin LT AT2 as the OEM replacement for the Tundra TRD Off-Road.

Yeah, the LTX's have always come in M/S and A/T versions.

Looking at the tread of the A/T, I can see why it wouldn't do well in snow.  There's  basically no siping on the tires.

Oh the Latitudes are back. Odd.

For a heavy SUV I would hold out for the DMV2s. So far they have been very impressive on the LR4.

I do want the DM-V2s, I’m just wondering if I should get them before they sell out or just wait for the rebate.

PMC Tire has a $50 MIR on right now for Blizzaks.  Without the rebate, they are only about $20 more delivered to your door, mounted and balanced (assuming you buy wheels, too).
^^So, is the deal done with PMC then?

I'm giving myself until Wednesday of next week to see if Costco gets tires back in stock. Their road-hazard warranty/lifetime balance, plus the fact they'll put the truck up in the air and do the tire switchover for me is all attractive.

If they still don't have stock by Wednesday next week, I'll order from PMC.

Surprised no one in your area would price match the PMC quote.

I phoned around to a few places, including Kal-Tire, dealerships, etc. and they all said that for them to price-match it has to be a physical location in Winnipeg.

So odd Toyota went from 6x139.2 bolt pattern in the 1st gen Tundra/Sequoia to 5x150 in the 2nd gen. I wonder if it's contributing to the limited towing capacity at least in the 2nd gen Sequoia?

I checked PMC today, and as a black Friday sale, they have 10% off wheels.  That includes the steelies that I'm ordering, so I'll save $40.00.  That did it for me, and I just ordered them.   Hopefully I have them before the forecasted snow in a week and a half.

Blizzak DM-V2 in 255/70R18
Silver Steel Wheels.  They actually don't look horrible, being a 5-spoke design.

They are hub-centric, and look identical to the Toyota OEM steelies.  Makes me wonder why Toyota was charging double for their OEM steelies, because they look to be indentical!!!

I'm going to try to find the Toyota center caps for cheap.  It should class them up a little.

I wonder if the black ones on your OEM wheels would work.

They might, and I thought about that, but I think I want to keep them unsullied by salt and winter road conditions.

I filled in the rebate on the Bridgestone website for a $70 pre-paid visa card.  Nice little bonus!!!  Not eligible for Costco shoppers, either.

You’ve probably seen lots, just never noticed them.

I had silver steelies on my Civic back in ‘99. Also had them on our Suburban and just bought another set for the Yukon. Lots of silver steelies on Subarus for some reason.

But it’s a good question why black seems to be more common. I doubt most people think it looks better. Probably most people just don’t care, but then why not just go silver anyway? I can’t imagine that paint colour has anything to do with rust prevention.

oh, are these painted silver??...i thought they were just regular metal (unpainted, but still silver in colour)...if they're painted, it should help protect the same as the black ones.

 :banghead:

Figures.  I checked the Costco website this morning, and they have Blizzaks for my truck back in stock.  I already ordered my tires from PMC tire on Friday.

It's not that they're that much cheaper; I got a very comparable price from PMC, but if bought from Costco I would have had their lifetime flat repair and balance warranty, and they would have put them on the truck for me.

Oh Well, isn't that just how the world works sometimes, eh?

It's like buying tires somewhere else, and then have it come back in stock at Costco
And who would've thought it figures?
