Right about where I was expecting.  $45k for the RWD sport manual?  Yes please.

damn Hyundai, respect for offering a manual at all  :flowers:

BUT.....

If one was to nitpick, they missed the sport sedan killer by not offering the 3.3T with the manual  - If they did, then maybe the take rate would be bigger for the manual for the sports sedan drivers - by hamstringing the transmission to the lesser engine they are just of course providing a self-fulfilling prophecy "Nobody bought the manual, so we won't offer it anymore." Well of course, because you didn't make the car we wanted.

If I was in the market, I would be looking for the G70 3.3T with the manual, LSD, RWD. I assume many others would be as well. Is there an upcoming model "Type R" etc. that I am unaware of that would have that combo?

If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

How many 300+ HP RWD manual sedans are still out there today? Is there anything else besides the BMW 340?

M3 can still be had with a stick as well...

Outside of the 3 series, I think an ATS-V can be had with a 6 speed?

Not many.

Exactly.  It would be a dumbass move on their part from a business perspective to incur the production / certification and other costs of bringing to market a car for which there is little market demand.  Do I wish every car came with a stick in every trim level?  Sure!  Do I expect it?  Nope.  Because reality.

This car SUCKS!  I would MUCH rather a Tesla III for more money!   :P ;D

IMHO, this car is a real winner.......inside and and out.  I buddy of mine works at our local Hyundai dealership, looking forward to testing driving it to see how it compares to our current Q50S.

I agree with Vmango on this - chasing lap times is DCT territory...for EVERYTHING else a manual is better for driver involvement

I do not agree that it is so much extra cost and R&D for a manual to be put with the larger engine to invalidate it's existence. If you can only do one, which engine do you think the enthusiast, one one in a million manual buyer, will be choosing? Yeah, the one with more power and better sound etc. Stupid move to saddle the good transmission to the lesser engine.

They could have had a sport sedan knockout [Alfa doesn't even offer a manual on the Giulia which is blasphemy]...instead they are just a very competitive offering in a crowded field.

I think my only critique with it is the grille.  IMHO, it's WAY better done than the current Lexus maw, but overall I'm still not a fan of the huge @ss grilles that seem to be the trend now.

Glad to hear the positive response on this... This car's packaging and pricing has become a labour of love.  ;D

Regarding all the questions on the 3.3T with a manual, the simple answer is I'd love it and would be first in line, but it's sadly not in the cards. That won't stop me from continuing to ask, but suffice to say that getting a manual version at all (and getting it equipped in proper enthusiast spec) took some real convincing.

Well thats a whole lot of awesome......nice work Hyundai!! 6spd manual, LSD, turbo, rwd, yes please!!

So the Tiberon manual shift lives on ...  ???  but this round it's $47K freight in.   ::)

So essentially the G70 has been developed for ladies and Metrosexuals (a young, urban, heterosexual male with liberal political views, an interest in fashion, and a refined sense of taste).   ;D :rofl2:

I wonder what the ETA is for proper Genesis dealers across Canada.  Not sure about you guys but the Hyundai dealers around here are terribly prepared to sell the Stinger, let alone something like this.

The $45,500 includes freight/PDI.

They never sell Stingers, that's a different manufacturer (Kia is often erroneously thought of as the same, granted).

Hyundai dealers, or at least selected ones, could easily sell and service Genesis properly. Its just that they decided to go a completely separate way and start from scratch with a separate "profit center". No preparation of consequence was done in the past with Hyundai dealers to sell and service Genesis.

There will be two dedicated Genesis stores in the Montreal area by summer.
