Don't need excessive buttons or screen displays. Go back and look at the old Chevy dash again, it has neither. Just enough buttons and knobs to get the job done. Nothing more. And the best invention: column shifter.

Well yeah, because it has no features.

you guys are in the minority...customer's today want features...in order to manage the features, you need buttons, screens or both...while there are a fair amount of controls in the new Rebel, i still think they did a great job keeping everything in a logical area and made it look tidy...now weird swoopy angles, etc...keep in mind, the Rebel has a lot of tech, you're going to have more buttons than a 20 year old Chevy truck...even a new Chevy truck has more buttons than the old grey drab one shown.

you guys are a funny bunch...a vehicle has a bunch of buttons and it's too busy...so a vehicle has a simplistic look and you say it looks "too basic", or in the case of the new Volvos, you say it looks great and clean...then complain that if the display goes, so do all your features/adjustments.

No no, I like buttons, buttons are easy to memorize. Subfolder b in menu c to get the heated seats on, no thank you.
no problem, i agree...and the Rebel has those buttons...the heated seats and heated steering wheel buttons flank the top of the HVAC section (right above the large dials, which you also like).
When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

Oh geez, that old GM dash layout is so cheap looking with craptastic materials, give your heads a shake guys!! Sure it's fine in a work truck that's trashed daily, but if I'm using it as my DD, I'd prefer to look at the new RAM dash, softer materials & more luxurious.

I seriously doubt it has heated seats and it definitely doesn't have a heated wheel.

You spend your driving time looking at and rubbing your dash?

The picture of the basic interior was for the last generation of GM trucks and it was pretty bad
This is this generation of basic interior
These seats are the closes thing to a bench

as was stated, that vehicle likely doesn't have any of those heated features...and ask tooscoops, buyers want the latest features, many of whom expect things like Leather, NAV and heated everything as standard (on base trims, which of course, it isn't).

if you like your vehicles with spartan interiors, that's fine, they are still available...but the buying public wants more...they are expecting their truck to be more like a Mercedes and less like a Yugo.

To have to go into a menu to turn on a seat heater is :censor: stupid. Stupid.

To be fair though, that's not exactly a common thing.

I also prefer simplicity.  Why did separate dials for fan speed and temperature become inadequate for HVAC?  Some tech adds more complexity than meaningful convenience.

Thats just making thinks complicated for no reason. I don't get what was wrong with a few dials, simple, easy....why ruin it??

exactly, and in the case of the RAMs, they don't do that anyway.

Looks similar to my ideal Chevy Suburban with front bench seats if I ever wanted a 9 passenger vehicle.

The new Ram? Have't personally touched one but in the pics it looks no softer then the new Silverado's dash (which I have't put my hands on either) The Rams dash has the blasted screen, its YUGE and is the big focal point. How many more features does the Ram have over the Chevy?

I personally find the new Ram quite boring on the outside. This new Chevy looks hot imo. Also hearing rumors that the sierra will have a different dash with stupid push button shifter.

I'm with you guys and this is essentially the interior in my 2009. So refreshing. My Camaro is the same. Call in on the drab scale but it's so simple and refreshing. It think (maybe hope) there's going to be a backlash against all these over complicated car interiors. It has gotten silly and has not improved but worsened ergonomics is most cases.

To have to go into a menu to turn on a seat heater is :censor: stupid. Stupid.

I'm also an old man who has never bothered to use automatic climate control. I need to have control, man.  ;D

Us old farts have to stick together!
