Those guys in Quebec switched the Leaf main battery on a 2013. They used a battery bought in a scrap yard from a 2015 Leaf for $2500. The swap, the first one they ever did, learning how to do it at the same time, took 3 hours. Overall, including labor, less than $3K.

I'm curious about the separate meter.  In Alberta, our electric bills consist of fixed and variable charges, with the fixed costs now forming a very high percentage of the overall bill.  If I had a second meter (and second bill) I assume I'd have to pay all the fixed costs again.  Ugh.  No way I'd want to do that!

A separate meter is different than a separate electrical entrance and account.

I bet that Sir guy knows of a meter you can put inline of a circuit that would read total kW used
