That's quite the rig from the factory! I'd love to own one, but sadly can't really justify that purchase to myself.... yet!!  :rofl2:

I'm amazed that anyone can justify that.  Welcome to the land of excess...a magnificent feat of engineering, but frightening to know anyone off the street (residually in Calgary) can buy one (and on such refinancing terms as the dealer sees fit).

I'm amazed that anyone can justify that.  Welcome to the land of excess...

Why would anyone have to justify that?  No one on here asks anyone to justify their 300bhp+ sedan, or their $50K+ SUV?  Do they need them, no.  Do they want them, yes.  I'm perfectly fine with not justifying anything.

P.S. Nice photos Dan.

How many of these Raptors will ever venture off-road?  I have no qualms about the ones that do.  The air hauling daily drivers on the other hand...

450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. That's a lot more than I thought.  :o

These are all over the place in town.

Who cares, how many people on this forum have cars that can go well over 200kph, but rarely if ever do?

Great pics, great article and great machine. Sorry, when you end up justifying a car you end up in a minivan.....or worse, a Pathfinder type of thing which is an in the closet minivan. This thing has absolutely 0 cares about being a wall flower. Saying that, the bellow of the 6.2 V8 in the last generation would be way more up my alley, no pressurized V6 steam cleaner hiss is ever going to be as seductive.
Lighten up Francis.....

saw this the other day and thought of you:

the price is stupid (no way it is worth anywhere close to that), but since you're a truck guy, i thought you'd like it.  :)

Speaking of exterior looks: not all that much has changed since 2015, when the Raptor was last available; the head- and taillights, of course, are different in keeping with what’s happening in the rest of the F-150 line-up, as the Raptor is, technically, a trim level of that truck.

The last Raptor was actually available as a 2014 model and was the old steel body style. The 2017 Raptor is based on the new aluminum body F-150 that appeared for the 2015 model year.

Have "drivers" really become so stupid as to need a "snow" mode to back off the throttle?

I do like the Raptor though. I also like the Power Wagon. The Raptor is the one that makes the "VROOOOOM!!!" side of being a carguy get me smiling whilst the Dodge is more the truck I could actually use in reality. I have a habit of burying vehicles in the mud......... :rofl2:

I agree on the exhaust note. When I saw it had a six I was thinking uh oh, going to sound like crap but when seeing a clip of it was quite presently surprised. Is that the actual sound or is it piped through the speakers in the cab?
