I'd be interested in this if heated seats were available. There are some interesting colour options too.

But honestly I'll probably go for a golf wagon (particularly now that AWD and MT are available as a combo!),  or XV next time around. I change my mind a lot though.

I swear if the tC was a Toyota, it would sell 10x better. A sporty coupe that is full of value.

I totally agree. Call it the Corolla coupe (doesn't matter if it's not really all that sporty, Corolla drivers wouldn't notice).

If I was in the market, I'd choose it over a Civic Coupe. The interior quality does suck though.

I don't think brand makes that big of a deal. Last year at the auto show the sales rep told me the biggest complaint was the lack of room. I could not believe the difference between the TC and Corolla or even the FRS. Redesign of the TC needed.

Another old car for Canada. it's been out since 2012 AKA Auris MK2. Which came about after Toyota decided to dump the Corolla name in 2007 in Europe. Took them long e-nuff to bring it here. It's really nice design and has dated well. 1.8 is bullet proof.

MK1

You can see it's the NA corolla without the boot and different grill.

MK2

Like a few others here I actually really think they nailed the looks of this car. Not to everyone's tastes, but they actually TRIED! You know, they did something! Too many others in this segment are awful, and I hate to say it, the Mazda 3 sedan and hatch are quickly looking tired (too many with flat paint and cheap wheels). Also the 3 hatch is odd-looking.

Anyway, the iM.

PUT A PROPER ENGINE IN IT! God. How difficult can it be?

Otherwise quite honestly I think this is the perfect size. Solid bones. Fully independent suspension. Mostly good equipment levels (lack of seat heaters in CDN market is oversight).

Drop the 1.8. Just drop it. Toyota has an advanced 2.0 litre it uses in the Camry in some markets; 165bhp, 147lbf. Even if they change the timing, valves and tune, and drop it to 150bhp, 150lbf with a flatter torque curve to make it less peaky and more suited to the CVT we're still taking a much gutsier engine than the 1.8.
