While it has enough power in every driving situation, it feels like it works harder once you’re on the go – passing on the highway is a good example. It’s not slow, but it takes a moment for the momentum to build.
Welcome to superchargers vs turbochargers... Supers are great at low end grunt but trend to fall out of breath in the upper rpms.

Good for jaguar for making a stylish, relatively reasonably priced, unique limo.  Would I take one over an S-class?  Doubt it... But the same holds true over the 7-series.. I'd prefer the kitten in that shootout.

^ would be a nice used pickup if you have the capacity to fix things yourself and a decent ($20k?) buffer for the unexpected.

There's one of these in the company parking lot. Not sure who owns it.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.

Generic big sedan. Not worth it. I'd get the Audi.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Contrast to this:

Jaguar is just a brand exercise now.

Usually opposite.   And how I read that,  is that it is good when moving faster and faster.   Supercharger runs off crank pulley so it spools as the engine spools.

I think its looks fine, but I agree with Sir O:  I want my big Jag to have that classic swagger if I'm going to dip my foot into British car waters...

Jaguar has always had awesome style. I've never been into big cars, but that's because I've never had a chauffeur or a garage big enough for one. If I had those two things, this would be my ride. But with Jaguar, you have to buy two, one for driving, one for parts.

Now that is a Jag.  Even the lowly X-type looked like a Jag.  I really like the looks of the X-type wagon...

Sounds like weight plus electronic transmission programming are the reasons itbis slow to respond. Roots/twin acrew are very responsive today compared to turbochargers for for quick idle to throttle response. Though my XTD VSport with twin turbo V6 feels like a V8 at times if you slip and wack the throttle.

I agree on both!  The old XJ was a looker, but lacked room and ultimate comfort (can't get comfy when my hair is scraping the headliner and my elbows are knocking against something) which kinda negates the luxury aspect imo.  This new XJ just never appealed to me, but I do like the XF and the F-Type is simply gorgeous although I'm not a big fan of the fart-can exhaust sound.

The X-Type wagon is a looker though, but talk about a unicorn.  My mother owned a X-Type sedan, but probably wouldn't be caught dead in the wagon.  :)

The F-Type and previous coupés (with the exception of the XJS) kept a certain bit of E-type DNA in their designs...

With a Jag, you shouldn't need to see the emblem to know it's a Jag.

My favourite and I have considered getting a used one and rolling the dice. Once you start driving Land Rovers anything seems reasonable..

I definitely do find the XJ L to be a little on the bland side, but overall, I don't mind the direction that Jag is currently heading in.  IMHO, their F-Type is a masterpiece.

What an awkward looking car from certain angles! The huge rear hanging in the air in the picture where the car is parked uphill is just one example.

The right rear door doesn't fit properly with huge panel gaps, the trunk doesn't seem to lie down flat with the tail-lights, and the left-front hood and fender height adjustment is off. All in all, the panels just don't seem to fit well together.

I'll never afford one, but don't particularly aspire to one either, based on these photos and review.
