"Along with the LT1 V8, the 2016 Camaro will be offered with GM’s new 60-degree 3.6L V6 generating 335 hp and 284 lb-ft."

Still impressed with the power numbers generated by new V6 engines (N.A.). G.M. has done their homework here beating many current V8 cyl and most V8 a generation ago.

Camaro's biggest challenger will be the Mustang. These pony cars seems to be faster evolving to stay competitive, something the market hasn't seen in decades.
Good time to be a buyer with no looser here just personal preference. Seems that ICE engines are going to go out like a lion.

Great photo's btw, looks like a day well spent.

I have always been more of a Mustang than a Camaro guy.  However, I think they've done a better job in the styling department with the Camaro, at least this generation.  While the new 'Stang has grown on me, the front and rear ends still seem mismatched.

Agreed,

I genuinely don't understand this complaint. Anyone care to explain? To me, the design is pretty well executed.

Since we're talking about Mustangs now in the Camaro thread... I see that the US price for the hot-hot-hot new base GT350R is just a few thousand more than the base Corvette Stingray. The Mustang is making a good argument for itself as the big-3 high-performance value leader. Or, among all car makers for that matter.

Definitely impressive, but improved engine efficiency is pretty universal regardless of cylinder count.   335hp/284 lb-ft isn't beating any current V8.   But yes, V8s of 10 years ago for sure.

Yes, the design issues are all at the front 18 inches of the car. The biggest problem is that very flat hood rolls too abruptly down to the grill causing the front to appear to have too much mass...and a fat upper lip. And, since the whole car tends to look like a slab with a roof (look at it's profile) the sudden taper at the front exaggerates the problem. The front fenders role in to the grill in the same way which doesn't help either. Lastly the too shallow squinty headlights don't work with all that mass around them, the needed to be deeper.

I don't think it's a cohesion problem between front and back, it's just the snout.

The new design has grown on me and I think the Mustang actually looks better in real life than in pics.

I still don't get it. I've seen the car in person enough, and find it looks better in the tin than in pictures, flattering or otherwise.

It's got some heritage to the design, but it's not overtly retro. I find the Camaro to be bluff-browed while the front of the Mustang is sleek in comparison without going to the extreme of something like the BRZ, which wouldn't work on a pony car like the Mustang.

On cars like the old Superbird, it was obvious that the nose-cone was an afterthought. I'm not seeing the issue with the Mustang.

thanks, glad you picked up on what I was thinking...  ;)

This event was cool, and I get why GM Canada did it, but losing the prestige of Camaro production after losing the significance of pickup production in Oshawa is a bitter bitter pill. We are now getting some dwindling crumbs and makes the bailout harder to swallow if they're just going to eviscerate production here after all.
