The hybrid idea scares me. The Cruze as it stands needs to lose about 400lbs to be within the realm of its competitors. Imagine throwing in 300lbs of battery
Or GM can just sell the Volt for the same price as the Cruze and call it a day That'd be nice. I'd buy that.
While the diesel is a porker, a Cruze LT w/Auto weighs 3118 lbs.
Mazda 3 GS w/auto - 2912 lbs
Toyota Corolla LE w/CVT - 2855 lbs
Jetta Trendline w/manual - 3007 lbs
Honda Civic LX w/CVT - 2830 lbs
The theoretical 2718 lbs Cruze would be the lightest in its class - not "within the realm."
If you were simply using hyperbole to make light of the Cruze's weight problem - I apologize. I know you're kidding about the price thing, right? Right?
