Yeah, the nomenclature has to change.
This is like the base Macan S and the Macan Turbo. In differentiating the names thusly, it suggests that the base engine is not Turbo'd (it is), and that the top o' the line one is (it is as well). I think this is where it needed to be "Macan" and "Macan S", with the "S" designating the more powerful variant.
I think it inevitable and welcome the change for higher-efficiency, but I do not welcome maintaining nomenclature that is misleading (kinda like calling a 2.0T the '28i', or '300'.
It's like FIL's 'new' 2001 911 Turbo. "whoah, you have a Porsche Turbo?!?!" "Yeah! I love it!" "So what turbo does it have? Is it the base engine?"
Yeah, I'm not even a Porsche purist and it pisses me off.
