Hard to comment here about the pricing and feature availability because of the (purposeful) complexity of the packages and the further complication in terms of Canadian vs U.S. offerings. In the US, AWD is not offered on the Pop. Seems the same here. If one wants AWD on the 500X in Canada one must be willing to pony up an additional 37% of the list price (almost $8,000) - OUCH! Classic case of the manufacturer telling the consumer that they know what is best for us to tick on the order sheet.
If a Pop with the 1.4 jewel, manual, AWD, and a standalone panoramic roof (or at least reasonably packaged price wise like the Mini's sunroof), could be had, then the vehicle would be on my radar. The Renegade seems more promising price wise, although the Canada US differences regarding option and package selection appear problematic.
I'd like to head off any 500X/Mini Countryman comparison reviews, or at least constant references, before they happen. The 500X is clearly a separate offering from Fiat and adds nicely to the product mix. It is not comparable to the diminutive, cute, niche 500. The Countryman, however, strikes me a Mini's attempt to simply offer a larger Cooper while keeping everything else that attracted the buyer to the Cooper, intact.
