I'm surprised there are so many people out there who can afford these things... Chryco seems to be dreaming up so many Hemi-this, SRT-that, versions of their cars... somebody must be buying them.  Hello mountain of debt.

This isnt a go into debt kinda car. This is meant for the middle aged guy who couldnt afford a hemi 'Cuda in high school and has cash.

Quite right, 'cept the guys that wanted a 'Cuda in high school wouldn't be middle age any more!  Try late 50s (at least).  But that's generally the demographic that has the cash for this type of specialty vehicle, so I don't blame Fiat for playing on their nostalgia...

To me middle aged is 50-60....  ;D
Lighten up Francis.....

People in the 50's could afford them in high school.  By then they were ten years old, rusty gas guzzlers.  In the late 70's you could buy them cheap.  Lots of my friends in High school had 60's muscle cars.

Wasn't the insurance horrible??? I heard that it used to be many a gold doubloon, or whatever currency you used way back then, whale blubber/animal pelts??, so a lot of young people couldn't afford them.

It was more then boring cars but insurance in Ontario wasn't that expensive back then.  And we saved money by not having cell phones, computers, heat, electricity, running water or indoor plumbing.... But we were happy.

I'm mostly just jealous... most enthusiast cars would require me to build a mountain of debt  ;D

Bulbous.

I'd rather have the less bulbous Z-28, the svelte Corvette, the rowdy BOSS302, the "don't be fooled by the spec sheet" TT-RS or the "I DO have a massive V-8" C63.

Evidently the Hellcat is an acquired taste.  Count me among those who like it.

+1

Was never the biggest fan of the Challenger but I'm really liking this revised model.

Just came back from the southwest U.S. and was surprised at how many Challengers I saw there.

Im fully in the Boss 302 or Z28 camp, this thing is like putting a bigger outboard on a BC ferry.

I like that the Hellcat exists and can imagine the niche demographic for it.... but I can't imagine the vast majority of folks looking for American Iron wouldn't be happier with a C7.

Different purposes I suppose.
