Small sports car would be larger than S660, smaller than NSX

Doubt it will happen. Honda has been feeding us BS for the last 5 years now..... I'm not holding my breath.

Ditto. I was wanting to put that in the article but figured I would give the rumour the benefit of the doubt.

So...how exactly does a mid-engine coupe become the successor to a front engine roadster? Sounds like it has more in common with the NSX.

How about... A brand new concept with no connection whatsoever to the S2000

I believe Honda has gotten back in touch with it's race heritage.
They are 2/3's of the way there with the NSX and S660. They should all be ready in time for their return to F1 in 2015.

Personally, I might be able to afford an S660, but not an S2000 as a 2-seater second car.

too little(in S660's case, quite literally  ;) ) too late (NSX) comes to mind.

S660 isn't even for sale in North America.

Honda had a chance to beat the world to Hybrid supercar in 2012.  but they wussed out.  why?  cuz nobody liked the f-ing transverse naturally aspirated V6 in the F-ing "supercar" mated to weak electric engine.

doesn't matter if the 90 degree V6 was a distant cousin to the new F1 car V6 engines.
At least make it  longitudinal and put some turbos or something.

now they say it will be a good car..  sure, now that this formula's proven to work, by Porsche, McLaren and a f-ing BMW.

Honda's days of leading the industry is quite over.

I'd feel happier with a pure ICE in any new Honda's sporting car.   Why add weight and complexity in that class of car.  Apart from the people who would buy a Tesla how many sports car buyers would buy a hybrid?  And I mean sports car drivers as distinct from people who just want to pose in a 2 seater.

S2000 is a mid-engined roadster not front engined

Yes it is, not many know that.
