The Everest is based on the Ranger and is conventional body on frame. The Explorer shares it's platform with the Flex and Taurus.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Ahh yes.  I missed that part that it is Body on Frame.  But my comment was more in response to this statement:

"As much as we all love the Ford Flex around here, the public at large doesn’t hold it in high regard. It looks like a big wagon – or maybe even a hearse – and most soccer moms don’t want to drive around in something that makes them feel like an undertaker.

It’s too bad as Ford does have another vehicle in its arsenal that would probably suit North American tastes just fine. And here it is: the Ford Everest."

Explorer is an option in place of the Flex.

Funny how the Explorer gets forgotten. It's not like it the best selling mid-size SUV/CUV in the US or anything.  ;D

The driver seats are nice in the Edge compared to a Explorer
In the Explorer rear seat , your are knees much higher then your hip, not as bad as a Pathfinder
In the Edge , the rear seat is better

Oh I agree.  Doesn't mean that the Everest is going to be any better for it.

Personally, if you have a need for 7 seats often enough, you're better off with a minivan.

Wouldn't it make more sense to debut the Everest in Nepal?

I think it's funny that people think the Flex looks like a wagon but don't see that the Explorer does too.  Both are dads from the suburbs but the Flex is the odd but cool neighbour while the Explorer is the office worker who likes to dress up like a cowboy on weekends and line dance.
