My 1992 Escort GT had pop-out rear windows. My 1990 Colt had fixed rear windows. The pop-outs were great for ventilation when aircon wasn't required. I missed the feature a bit with the Colt, but it wasn't really a big deal.

I think all the other cars I've had had four doors and roll down windows.

While i'm 99% a driver 0.8% a front seat passenger and 0.2% a rear seat passenger.... i would just about NEVER want a vehicle with fixed or pop-out rear windows.    Vehicles that only roll half way already drive me nuts!!!

I don't even roll the rear down that much, so I guess it shouldn't be a big deal.
BUT if i want to them down, I want them down!!!!

for the 0.2% of moments i'm in a back seat, I like the available option of being able to bring my own window down.   Otherwise it almost feels like you're lock up!

Border agents aren't going to be happy with that...

"Sir, please roll down your rear windows."

"I can't."

"Sir, I'm not going to ask you again. *pulls out taser* Roll. Down. The. WINDOWS!"

With kids in the back seat, that would be a good idea, but I would make them power windows like a minivan.

good also for a dog, less to worry, specially for small breeds (not bread, corrected typo :) ) trying to stick out half of their bodies.

And on the cars, I really like the Citroën Cactus, even though I prefer Renault as a brand

Yup, as was the Colt.

The only four door I can remember with pop out rear windows was the 78 to 83 Malibu/Lemans/Olds Cutlass.

most cars today has power window lock option.  Even my Matrix has it.  With on click only the driver has control of all windows.   That solves the kid problem.   As for the dog, well I've never seen a dog roll down it's own window.    I'd prefer having the option and control of all my windows than being in a car that has it fixed (as a cheap cost cutting measure)

Is there even a modern car out there with power windows that don't lock?

you should see my dog..  she sometimes steps on the window button and rolls down the rear window all by herself..  and she's blind.   ;) ;D

Why have any window openable apart from the drivers door ( for toll booths and the border) ?

My brother had a 81 K Car wagon and the back door windows did not roll down. There were little quarter windows that popped out.  It was a dumb idea then and it's absurd now.

I don't understand people that DO NOT secure their pets while the car is in motion.
