About freaking time.

It would be interesting to see how the current half-ton tow ratings would fare if subjected to the SAE standard.  I think the 2010 F150 with 5.4L (and shortest axle ratio) claimed something ridiculous like 11,000 lbs.  Total and utter marketing BS - and Ford knows it.

I suspect the reason they've been slowly decreasing their tow ratings the past few years -  while maintaining or increasing the actual capability of the trucks - is so that they won't get hit with the major PR disaster (in the truck world) of significantly decreased tow ratings when the SAE standard is finally adopted.

It's a good move, but I doubt the adjusted tow ratings will be much different. Like Toyota, they might drop a couple of hundred kilos, give or take.

At least now everyone will be speaking the same language.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.
