How about BTO - Roll on Down the Highway, Hey Little Cobra, Mustang Sally, Detroit Rock City, Trooper - Boys in the Bright White Sports Car, Beach Boys - 409 to name car related ones.

Great choice.  I'll also throw in another classic from the Dazed and Confused soundtrack - Slow Ride by Foghat.

I can't think of any great car anthems that are recent - at least not "rock'n'roll" car songs.  That is reflected by the list and forum comments, too.  Some really good recent country music car songs though ("Pickup truck" by Shane Yellowbird and "Mud on the Tires" by Brad Paisley come immediately to mind)

Led Zeppelin's Rock and roll is where? Kind of hard to disassociate it with Cadillac now though.

Deep Purple's Highway Star has been covered as has Golden Earing's Radar Love.
