45dB idling with no HVAC. On Steeles eastbound approaching Don Mills (up the hill).

No way to test everything else given tonight's crappy commute.

I've accidentally tried to turn on the car a few times when it was already idling.  I did that because the engine is so quiet I forgot it was on!

I took the reading from the passenger seat.  I don't know how calibrated is that app on my Android phone.   There is a lot more hardware variation in Android than iPhone.  ;)

I am ok with the Civic being quieter than the Verano at idle.  :D

On the VW, it is 35 idle and 65 highway same as Northernridge's wife.

Forgot to measure the car again but the Air Canada plane was 91db at 30,000 feet on the way to Regina today.

'11 328i xDrive Winter tires (HVAC not running):

28 - engine off in garage
50 - idling
64-68 - 50km/h
74 - 100km/h
78 - WFO

Neat app. Wife easily maxing out at 90db  ;D
