Daughters corolla had two wheels seized on so bad I had to use a maul, and that was after 5 months.  This year I put some never seize on them.

We need an update. The new water pump went in.

Radiator back in.

The heater hoses looked really old. So I bought a few feet of hose to cut up in replacement bits.

Connect one end, roughly measure and cut.

I was able to buy a new radiator hose. No such luck on the top one. So bought one that sort of, kind of had a similar shape. Again had to cut it down.

All new hoses in.

The hose fitting it came with absolutely silly (and it did leak badly) so had to buy a replacement piece (the silver bit).

Next up is the gas tank that has who knows what in it. Car has been sitting since 1981 or so. The guy I bought it off bypassed the tank and used a whiskey bottle for fueling. Interesting the tank straps used wood. Undid the fasteners after some struggles.

Lots of dirt and pebbles fell out.

The tank is out. And looks pretty decent given the time it sat. Cleaned it out.

Nice and solid under there.

Tank back in. New rubber hose needed and it can be hooked up.

A friend helped me get the drums off. Brought over his very cool '66 Dodge panel van.

New wheel cylinders

Made up some new brake lines

Changed the diff fluid

Oil change

Gearbox fluid change

The headliner was kinda gross and ripped. Might be hiding some mice poop so ...

Looks like crap but better from dust perspective.

Found a petrified mouse.

Some last minute stuff

Thanks for sharing.

It reminds me long time ago when I was teenager, me and a friend bought 196X Dodge Polara for .. $25, sure we split the bill by 2  :P
Except in our case, we ran the Polara as a demolition derby for a while, until "the thing" finally died.

Edit, looks like it was a 1966 sedan 4 doors but wasn't in good condition as picture below

Figured this was a somewhat appropriate place to post this as it is related.  In the late ‘60s, rather than making a model of the Bonneville, the UK’s Dinky Toys produced a model of the Canadian Parisienne instead.  I have no idea as to whether it was due to colonial ties or the fact that rhd Parisiennes were sold in the UK and Australia.  Interesting all the same, and perhaps one of the only diecast models of a truly Canadian car ever (the Laurentian and Parisienne were not simply grill and taillight swapping badge-engineering jobs - much of the sheetmetal was incompatible with the US Catalina and Bonneville of the same era).  A police version was also sold.  It’s amusing to see them described as ‘US cop cars’ in ebay listings.

Neat!

rhd  Pontiacs were sold in South Africa too.
