Thanks, we did look at the opening sale but we didn't get a lowes flyer odd, since we are like 5 min away from them.

We'll take a look.  We are leaning towards the samsung set.  We can get white for $999 or we can get silver for $1060.  Costco has them for $1150 as well a little higher end model in blue.

Futureshop has a save the tax sale on right now.

We got the flyer in the same rag that the Best Buy and Future Shop flyers come in, whatever it's called.  I don't bother reading it, I just want to peek at those 3 flyers.

Just went thru this in November, and did a lot of research and shopping. Nobody makes a top-loader that is of much quality any more so for a few hundred dollars more it makes sense to get a decent front loader for the energy savings. Samsungs seem to have some troubles as do Whirlpools and GEs. I learned that Maytag is now owned by Whirlpool and has had lots of problems over the last decade, so their past reputation for quality is no more. Sad. Surprisingly Bosch also seems to be troublesome. Good reports abound on LGs and that's what I bought. Best decision I ever made. Great machines, super-quiet, stainless drum, very water-stingy, overall works very well. If you want the pedestals and designer colors you can spend $2K on a pair, but mine are white and are high enough not to need the pedestals and I paid just about $1K plus taxes for the ones I found on sale. Buy the LG, you won't be sorry.

BTW, some Kenmores are made by LG, some not. Their feature sets may be different and recent disappointments at Sears led me elsewhere. YMMV.

I have to agree with LG, superb quality and performance - haven't regretted this purchase.

We got our last set at Lowes, get them to price match, then ask about their credit card, you maybe able to extra off by openning a new account

Good idea although not sure I want another card just before applying for a mortgage.  We hadn't looked at hd yet my neighbour works there and said he would let me know when the sale was.

No need until may, but if we get a firm offer on our house I'll buy for a may delivery.  Problem with hd and lowes they won't hold them for 3 months

Well these have been on sale for awhile:
http://www1.thebrick.com/brickb2c/jsp/catalog/product.jsp?id=LGLDY2&navAction=jump&navCount=3

And this weekend they are doing no tax so an additional 13%.  I went in and tried to dicker with them, they wouldn't budge!  So I left, went to a few other stores, nobody else was even close for the LG, Samsung I can get for the same price.  FutureShop was willing to beat it by 10% ($30) but it would be red and well we rather the blue.

It's a good deal for the LG's it seems, we are going to get those.  I'll try to call it in tomorrow, try to get free delivery at least.

Good choice. The blue is real purty.

Pick them up figuratively, not literally. The washer is a heavy beast, well over 200 lbs.
