I wanted to find out how many "rich" people out there really like to have that much technologies built into their vehicle, and to study a 1000 page manual?
People who can afford a 100K+ vehicle are probably the wealthy baby boomers business man /woman, most of them don't even need/know to type on a keyboard ..... and they dont have time to play around all those features anyway
I' m guessing you either have never met a successful business person or are basing this comment on American TV shows. Everyone I have ever met that could afford this car spends a huge amount of time reading and researching everything. You don't get rich by guessing or by being stupid, you get rich by hard work and knowing more then your competitors.
I doubt many would buy this car either. Very poor value for the money.
Most people who buy this type of vehicle have more then one car to use. So to expect someone to have to study an owners manual to learn how to use the cars features is just plain dumb. And BMW leads the way in that regard. Luxury vehicles have to be easy to use, easy to understand, easy to switch into because they are simply one of most times several vehicles at there disposal. That's why I drive was so dispised.
And another thing, why did BMW think that changing the shifter patern was a good Idea? Car manufacturers world wide had used a common patern for many many years, but BMW had to re-invent the patern?
BMW has made it dificult for their customers to learn and understand their vehicles, so the wealthy people, not the status types, stay away from them, and for good reason. Simplicity will own the day for luxury vehicles, and BMW has a very long way to go.
