not much traffic in the yukon .
i'm sure ,because of the very good handling of the sportage encouraged agressive driving for the fun of it , causing the mpg to drop
i'm sure diesil engines drop their mpg if driven the same way

The exterior looks better than the Tucson...me rikey.

I agree. The chunky styling works better on a tall CUV body. The dramatic styling on the Sonata works better because it's long and low. I'm looking forward to seeing a Sportage in the flesh (er..steel)

Nice little trucklette. I still wish we could see more true wagons on the market, but this type of vehicle is stylish and practical for a lot of individuals/couples/small families.

Why only black and white shots of the interior?

Actually, they are in colour.  Notice the red seat belt release buttons.  It's the interior colours that are throwing you (and at first me) off; it is all grey.

WHY WOULD KIA DO THIS ??!!!  A FLIP-UP REAR WINDOW IS ONE OF THE MOST USEFUL FEATURES ON ANY AUTOMOBILE !!!!  I'D NEVER GET THE 2011 MODEL SOLELY BECAUSE THIS FEATURE IS MISSING . . .

""Also gone is the useful flip-up rear window that obviated the need to open the rear door to get access to the cargo area""
