Thinking of heading to Cedarpoint in Ohio -- anyone gone before?

Looking for inexpensive hotel options.

typing   " Hotels Cedarpoint Ohio" into Google maps gets several pages of places, most in Sandusky

I've always wanted to go there! The park there supposedly has some of the best roller coasters in the world!  ;D

One of these summers, it'll be a nice road trip with a few friends! :)

Let me know how your trip turns out and if it's worth the drive! (I'm assuming you're going for the park? Is there anything else over there?)

tripadvisor.com is a great site for finding places to stay, and to read reviews by people who have actually stayed in them.

On my trip to the Finger Lakes last November, I used it to find a B&B.  I was not disappointed.

I've been there a bazillion times.  Even rode the Jet-Skis there once from my house.  And yes, some of the roller coasters are epic.  Also a nice waterpark.  As others have said, it's best just to use some hotel finding service to find lodgings....What ever you do..DO NOT...I repeat...DO NOT speed in Ohio.  They make the OPP look like downright lovable....they'll nail you for 5MPH over.  No joke.

Hit me up either on your way there or back..and we'll get together for a quick meal and some beverages....
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Isn't windsor kind of out of the way?  Says to take the US route there.... I'd love to go to that Thai place again!

My in-laws used Hotwire when they stayed in Niagara Falls (the CDN side) a few weeks ago and ended up getting the Sheraton for about $75 taxes-in, USD.  Check out the going rate for the Sandusky area and if you aren't tooo picky about the accomodations, Hotwire is the way to go.  They will tell you if you will be buying a 3*, 4*, or 5* before you purchase, but do not tell you the hotel name until after your CC is charged.  Still, you will save a lot of money that way and at least know that you are getting a 4*, for example, at a 2.5* rate.
