I wonder what the comments here would have been if he had tested a Chevrolet Malibu instead on a Mazda.

Actually, I am sure there would be no difference at all!  :rofl2:

Do we not consider Mazdas domestic here?  I've always seen them as a brand name of Ford, like Mercury and Lincoln.

That would be erroneous...I don't think Ford ever owned more than 30% of Mazda, and I think they currently own something like 5%.  For comparison, Ford owns 100% of Volvo.

You're right; although Ford selling most of their stake in Mazda happened only in late 2008 (before that they owned 33.9%).  I was confused by the fact that the Tribute is a carbon copy of the Escape, and that Ford shares much of their engine lineup with Mazda.

Most vehicle reviewers either try to hide their biases, or say little about them. Clarkson tries to flaunt them!  ;D

To me, his page at the Times is a weekly visit, for comedy. Car reviews? Oh that may be in the title of the article, but no matter. This review wasn't his best in the comedy department, however searching through his others brings up some real gems.

I loved his motorcycle review.  Much of the article tries to convince you that you would be quickly killed should you ever try anything on or near a bike.

Sure , Clarkson is entertaining that why so many people watch TopGear ...but he is a tester that knows what he likes...and to he11 with anybody that disagrees...
