Miami, Key West Attractions?
« on: December 25, 2008, 05:58:51 pm »
This Saturday, we are off to Tampa, Fort Myers, Miami, and Key West. We are taking the Odyssey down, with the family. We are skipping Orlando, we have been there twice, including once this past May.

So...any key attractions for the family, especially the Key West and Miami area? We have family in Tampa and Fort Myers, so they know whats good or not in those areas.

Also, anyone know of any areas to "avoid" in Miami?

Thanks!  :)

The main graveyard in Key West is quite interesting. That's free.

Chartering a boat to visit the DRY TORTUGAS and the fort is a major winner.  Ferry wasn't running at the time.  Can't go wrong unless the weather turns bad.

Yeah Miami and Key West are not exactly "kiddie " friendly................IMHO...........more ADULT entertainment..................Key West has lousy beaches...and apart from Hemingways house..is a DUMP.......................maybe some of the Ismolarda and other "KEYS" could reveal more FUN/SUN & FAMILY events....................
Time is to stop everything happening at once

I strongly recommend these 2 sites in South Miami;

- Viscaya County Park

- Fairchild Tropical Garden

Thanks!

We're currently in Chattanooga, TN. I know Miami isn't the safest city, but we are just going to go to the main tourist areas/attractions. However, its still good to know whats bad and such.

We are staying in Fort Lauderdale, near the cruise ports, so we are in an okay area.
