This might be a rather nice package from Honda although the article states that this is only a mule and not the actual car.

I guess this will be Honda's answer to the Venza.

Interesting find. It is the Euro Accord wagon with N,A. Accord front clip, and I notice the rear bumper is North Americanize with the side red reflector, and the side mirrors are not the euro Accord mirrors.

Since the CR-V is Honda's Accord-based SUV this was inevitable I guess. I'd be hard-pressed to call it anything other than a station wagon though...

Slightly raised, AWD, station wagon.

Isn't this the segment Subaru almost left because it didn't seem to catch up? Or was that only because of the quirky Subaru designs? I guess time will tell.
The Ford Taurus X is another one in this category that didn't seem to fly, but maybe because it's a Ford?

That's incorrect. The CR-V is based off of the civic platform. This is definitely a direct competitor to Toyota's Venza.

I like the lower stature of this car compared to other CUV's. Bring back the stationwagon. It has a "Magnum" look to it.

Yep, looks like an Accord wagon to me, which is great. I wonder if they'll ruin the production version by jacking it up several more inches and slapping on 19 or 20 inch rims?

I never understood why the Taurus X never flew. It's possible the aborted Freestyle sort of sank it. The tow rating was fairly low for that type of vehicle too.

And I thought the Accord looked big enough...

Oddly enough, I think I prefer this version.  The Accord sedan has always struck me as overly bloated (to put it mildly).  As a big tall wagon though, the chunkiness works better.

On a purely aesthetic basis, I'd much sooner drive this than that fugly new Pilot.

Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

Can't say you'r wrong. It looks better in the wagon shape indeed.

First Honda in a couple years that hasn't been a total aesthetic train wreck IMO.  I like it.

The Venza offers an absurdly good interior-space-to-fuel-economy ratio in inline-four trim (even with AWD, where it gets the same overall fuel economy as my Jetta).  Let's see if this can compete.
