My other weekend project -- hanging pictures
« on: November 16, 2008, 05:29:57 pm »
There was an "art" sale today -- we have been looking to fill our GIGANTIC empty wall now for a year.  The wall is 11' x 10' which is rather big.

We finally found something we liked that was large enough.  But then the task of mounting them OMG!  So I had to get out the ladder, this wall starts 8' up then add another 10' so I had to climb about 14'-16' to get the screw in the wall.  Plus we were hanging two pictures so that meant getting them perfectly centered.... fun fun fun!

I got the screws in then struggled of course to get the pictures to hook on but I got it all done.

Look much better than a bare wall -- now I'll have to take them down and paint :(.

I would've bought three and placed them closer together, but that's just me.  I still like the way they echo the size and shape of your window on the right.

They didn't have three :P
Also it is hard to tell from the pictures but they are different colours, it isn't the photo doing that.

One is spring and one is fall.

The one on the right is down by about a 1/8 of an inch.  :)

Nice job.

^ hahaha

I was so afraid they would be totally lopsided.  It is a wire strung on the back of the painting so even though the screws were in the right spot, the wire or how the wire hangs or whatever could throw it off.  But I guess I got lucky on this. Thank god!

I agree with B, 3 and closer together, also could be lower down the space IMO.

Other than that  ;) ;) - good job.  ;D

I don't think your Olympus camera does justice to the colours.   ;D

You are correct.  Especially since it was pitch dark and I used the flash, I was impressed it came out at all.
