I would happily take that TDI minus the nav system and ideally not silver.  Or that 1.4 engine provided that it was exactly the same performance as quoted.... actually that goes for both. I don't give a $hit if my car in Canada would be deemed to poison the whole population of Los Angeles... I'll be happy if it does not poison the population of Europe.

Tpl, I think you'll have the opportunity to get a Golf TDI since it has been confirmed to come to North America.
